The Center for the Study of Art, Architecture, History & Nature (C-SAAHN) sponsors the Noon-Hour Lecture/Discussion series on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at the Buffalo & Erie County Downtown Central Library. The theme for the 2010 - 2011 Series on the 4th Tuesday is "Why are Buffalo Niagara's Art, Architecture, History and/or Nature Important?" Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, President and CEO, Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau, presented a clear case for developing the fifth largest economic sector in our region - tourism. The branding efforts since 2006 are paying off, based on seeing Buffalo as central to the region with many other attractions nearby, including Niagara Falls, Fort Niagara, Fort George and Fort Erie, Niagara-On-The-Lake, the Roycroft and Chautauqua Institution.
Every dollar invested in tourism has been shown to have a $25 return. Our future is rooted in the culture we are developing around our art, architecture, history, and nature. --- By Dennis Galucki
